The hottest "new" shoe hue is nude. Fashion magazines love it because it goes with everything in a woman's wardrobe and more importantly, extends the leg for miles and miles. It looks terrific with bare legs and sheer nude hosiery, too.
But something is wrong with calling this shade "nude" or "flesh," because it doesn't look nude on black skin, brown skin, yellow skin and any other skin that's not white skin.
It's time to really think about how we use fashion descriptions to make them more inclusive. It's not as sexy to call nude "adobe," or blush or whatever, but it's so much more accurate and less exclusionary.
